I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to describe this book. It depicts an America on the verge of starvation, with food riots in the cities and farmers being the new elite---elite who have to live in armed enclaves for safety. Fundamental religions are the order of the day, and flying is a major sin!
One young misfit wants to fly, and he and his young wife move to New York (the city where anything can be found) to do just that, but Daniel can't get off the ground. What does he do next?
