In 1903, Kate Sheridan works on a book at Blenheim Palace about the love affair between Henry II and Rosamund, who may have been killed at the hands of Eleanor of Aquitaine. The disappearance of a household maid and a mysterious woman trying to sell the Marlborough gems, and a duke and his teenaged mistress going missing all contribute to a new mystery to solve.
