I found this book to be just plain sad-well written, interesting, but sad. The subject matter is sad enough, to be sure. It is told in both the daughter's and mother's voices, a parents nightmare come to life. I found the mom's parts much harder to read. Carmel, the daughter's parts were not as sad, as maybe scary/ Still a good read.
