I know William Faulkner is an American 'treasure'. But I for the life of me could not get into this book. This is a story of the south, Mississippi, to be exact, a beautiful part of our country, full of beautiful people. Don't remember them being this confusing. Often I re-read passages to make sure what I had read made any sense, and upon reading it again was still as lost and confused as the first time. This is not a long book, so I really thought it would be easier as it went on. It was not. Maybe I need a Faulkner scholar to explain it to me.
