What a wonderful, heart-warming story! This is not just an "I love my dog" story in which the dog dies in the end. The dog does die, but Koontz doesn't stop there; there is a wonderful surprise at the end.

This is also the story of Koontz's life, and how his dog changed his and his wife's lives, who never had children of their own. You will learn a little bit about service dogs, and Koontz writes about his philosophies about life, people, and dogs, too. Yes, this book might make you cry, but it will also make you smile and laugh aloud. You won't regret taking the time to read it.
