It was obvious from the first Midnight Breed book that Lara Adrian was ripping off JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series...however, her first 3 or 4 Breed books were still great! Captivating alpha males with scintillating romance, and fight scenes interspersed here and there, but taking a backseat to the main love story.

However, as the series has drug on, it's became more & more repetitive & predictable. No longer love stories, now Adrian's books are filled with one fight scene after another, with some boring sex scenes in the middle.

I had high hopes at the start of this book--I thought "Finally! A love story again!"....but nope, I was wrong. By page 150 I had the ending figured out, and was bored stiff. More battles, more war, more gimme-a-break-haven't-we-had-enough sex scenes...and absolutely no character development or love story.

Once again, JR Ward remains the ONLY author I've ever read whose series gets BETTER as it goes along! At this point I am convinced that Lara Adrian is just cranking out more Breed books to make a fast buck. Never mind that they're all the same, and all basically boring...

This book is ok--but don't waste the money on a hardcover edition. Wait for the paperback...and then trade it--for free! :)
