Great Amish story with a twist of Shakespeare

Gosh, Minding Molly was almost a little scary. Scary because Molly reminded me much of myself with her desire to control and her frustration with the people that won't listen. OK, so I am not as organized as Molly is, chore charts? Nope, nuh uh.

Until Minding Molly I had only read the Amish stories that Leslie Gould co-wrote. I'm really glad I picked up this book and I think I'm going to try and read the previous books in the series. And also you never know, I just might read a little Shakespeare, part of the inspiration for this book, too.

You know, I was a little surprised by this book. One thing you don't see very often in Amish stories is depression and/or mental health issues. I liked how Leslie Gould handled it with honesty and sensitivity.

This was a great Amish coming of age story. Molly is already a responsible girl but she has a lot of growing up to do and with the help of family, friends, a fella from Montana, and a horse, she does just that.
