Im not always one to read bestsellers. After reading one or two, I began to stray more toward the classics, or more obscure titles when I can get my hands on them.
However, The Kite Runner was a bestseller that Im glad I picked up. Its written in an honest style thats easy to relate to. The author pulls you right into the Afghanistan of his childhood, and later, modern Afghanistan and America.
The novel is haunting and heartbreaking but its got an engaging spirit and I found myself rooting for the protagonist through all of his struggles and his successes.
