A very well-written novel that strikes you as so real that it could be nonfiction. The story is not formulaic or predictable and the protagonist is the most fallibly human character I've seen portrayed. An engrossing view of Afghan culture, but more a book about human struggles. Emotionally charged and somber. I can't say that I completely enjoyed this book, but I'm glad to have experienced it.
