Jenny Cain is off and running again. "She didn't particularly like the pompous wealthy do-gooder MaryDell Pain who wanted the Port Frederick Civic Foundation to fund a recretation cetner for former mental patients but Jenny was optimistic it would work. Most of the neightbors didn't object to the center until a man was found slashed to death in the basement, and all clues pointed to a paranoid schizophrenic patient. Jenny plunges into the shifting motivations of nervous neighbors, jealous lovers, greedy realtors and comes up with another conclusion - one that puts her squarely in a cold blooded murdeer's line of fine!"
