Another fast-paced chapter in the John Taylor series, filled with the signature quips that make these books so enjoyable. The time travel aspect of this installment makes for an interesting adventure and explains many of the side stories found in the earlier books. And of course, leaves many questions to be answered....

One of the main characters introduced in Paths Not Taken is Tommy Oblivion, an existential private investigator, who uses probabilities and a very persuasive manner to aid John Taylor in his quest to find his mother. A short story featuring Tommy Oblivion appears in the anthology, Powers of Detection.
