I'm sure there are so many people out there who love this book but it just wasn't what I was hoping for.

Alive and Kicking: When Soccer Moms Take the Field and Change Their Lives Forever
Review Date: 10/7/2008
Helpful Score: 2

If you want to read a good book on a soccer team read "The Beautiful Game." I was looking for a book about their struggles as a team and how each woman changed, not chapter upon chapter of biographies on each woman on the team and what brought them to their first practice. I had to quit before chapter six.

If you like his speeches you will love this book. It shows the same gift for language, even if you don't agree on each of his opinions, this book is not pressing a certain aspect, rather it is leading you through his personal experiences.

This book was more about personal stories than it was about tips, which is what I was hoping for. It was still an entertaining read though.

I was hoping this would be a little more "personal change" and not so much "God loves you." I had to stop in the first 20 pages so maybe it does have some good advice.

He has very nice designs but the text wasn't as good as I hoped. I will definitely take many design ideas for storage from the pictures.

I was hoping for more interior ideas, instead the book focuses on the backgrounds of the architects without ever looking inside.

This book was very informative but at this point in my life I already knew much of the information discussed since a lot of it was intro. Great for a high schooler or even someone just getting out of college.

I really liked the twists in the beginning of the book, the whole plotline is so unlike the meet, seduce, dire situation, rescue sequence that most romance novels follow. However I wish she would have left out the epilogue, it was beyond cheesy and that ruined my overall grade for the book. Read to the epilogue.
