I enjoyed this book enough to read it twice :)
The plot is a little predictible, and it rambles in a few places, but overall is a good read. The characters are realistic & develop well, and it is easy to follow their thoughts & feelings.
I would definately reccommend this to anyone who likes chick lit.

The first few pages intrigued me... I wanted to know more about Izobel & her life, who built the site, etc. I liked the concept of this story.
BUT THEN... it dragged. There were many spots where I had to put the book down & try to read it again later because I could feel my eyes glazing over. For 271 pages, there was very little plot development.
And, not to be a spoiler, the ending (who was behind the site) was disappointing & made very little sense. After reading the (very disappointing) ending scene, I wondered why I read this book at all!

Maybe I was not the right person for this book... Just not my cup of tea :)

I love Grisham, and was very excited to read a book that would be a departure from his usual genre... But I was a bit disappointed in "Playing For Pizza". The characters didn't develop as well as they could have, and the ending did not provide any kind of closure- almost like he just got bored & decided to wrap it up real quick. I also could have lived without the pages upon pages of blow-by-blow football action, but that's just personal preference. The thing I really loved was that you could see Grisham's style shine through in the good parts.
I am, and will continue to be, a huge fan :)

I liked this book a lot. It had a little bit of everything- romance, friendship, dysfunctional relationships, foreigners... Makes me wanna go to Spain & find an Ercos :)
