Well told family saga. Made me want to read more about Mary Carrier. This book was realistic in covering life in colonial America with hardships and survival at all costs. Mary knows what she must do for her daughter to survive not only a witch hunt but just life as a woman. By the end of the book, I liked and respected all of the main characters.

I loved this book. I especially loved the flashbacks because I love books with that setting. I could not put the book down. All of the characters were intriguing. The author did a fantastic job of keeping the reader guessing throughout the whole book.

I loved this book. Historical fiction is my favorite genre but I especially liked this because it was told from the perspective of a young German woman. Her story of survival was an eye-opener. The character of Anna comes to life and the reader will become part of her story. I could not put this book down.

This story follows the character of Simon who is fighting many demons. His journey takes him to Jerusalem where he experiences the arrest, trial and crucifixion of Jesus. Simon is not a follower but his interest in Yeshua peaks as he watches in the background the last few days of Jesus' life. I found the story interesting and easy to follow. You empathize with Simon as he moves through his struggles.

I was not sure what to expect when I began this book but I was pleased. Not only was the main character's story interesting, it was heart breaking. This is not a historical figure that many people are aware of. It was a quick read but chock full of information. The story moves quickly but is detailed enough to let the reader feel that they know exactly who each character is.
