"Most of these short stories intertwine with a series by the authors. I can't say I like when authors do this, but it is cool to get a peek at other authors series if I haven't read them yet. Made me want to read the series that these stories are about. Good read."

"I think that out of this series this one turned out to be my favorite. I like that all the characters are in it.
Also I think that Ms. Jackson made this one (and the last) to be more intense. It was captivating through the whole thing."

"I still am a fan of L.J.Smith, but this series is just....not that great. I like the TV show more. I hate to say that since I'm a huge book fan, but there is just not enough in the book for me to really like it. It's slow. You don't know how to feel about the characters. I had to force myself to continue to read it."

"There are some issues I have with this book. If a vampire that's a couple hundred years old falls in love with a teenage girl, I'd expect her to be a little less enchanted with herself. Maybe there is some supernatural thing at work because I really don't like her (Elena)character. In the next book she gets better. I like her in the very end of this book, but that's about it. I did enjoy the series and went on to watch the TV show. I enjoyed that more. I love L.J.Smith, but am a little disappointed with the first 4 books of the series."

"These books would have probably been better for me if I hadn't watched the TV show first. I don't like Elana much in the books and can't understand why Stephan likes her. The characters weren't as well written in VD as they are in other L.J.Smith books. It was a very slow read for me. I couldn't get into it. It's not bad, but not one that I would read again."
