"Indulgent and a failed attempt at "exposing" the music industry. I found it to be a direct hit on Destiny's Child.

Essentially, the front runner of a girls trio from a small town catches the eye of a famous music executive. She becomes his girlfriend and experiences a life of prestige, fame, and, eventually, betrayal."

"The character is easily liked, but her consistent poor decision-making is tedious and stressful.

Do not expect the book to be like the movie. For starters, the main character of the book is British, who moves to the States in a subsequent book. The movie starts in the States."

"I loved it! I'm a big history nerd, so this new take on historical fiction served me well. Even though I loved the musical, I heard bad reviews of the book Wicked. I decided to try this novel instead. Not only was there a SURPRISE ENDING (that I wish was more developed), but it is definitely a family-friendly read. I would have no qualms with a younger crowd reading this book."
