This small book packs a powerful punch. Euripides sure knew how to grab your imagination. The classic story of a wife betrayed by a husband that had vowed undying devotion, but later decided another princess was more to his liking.

Roy Blount Jr. is one of the funniest writers I've read. He has a great southern voice and a way of showing the absurd in our public and private lives.

My book has a different cover. I read this book cover to cover when I was 38. Now I'm 48 and need to move on. There are essays by 18 women, many whose names you will recognize (Frances Moore Lappe, Judy Chicago, Barbara Boxer, Gabrielle Roth, Mayumi Oda, Brooke Medicine Eagle, Cokie Roberts and many more).
