Conquer Your Food Addiction : The Ehrlich 8-Step Program for Permanent Weight Loss
Review Date: 3/23/2007

"I couldn't really get into this book. Although the author makes a few good points, I didn't find a whole lot of advice that would've been doable in my everyday life. I found it sort of unrealistic."

"This was an insanely awesome book! I COULD NOT put it down until it was completely finished. And even then, I went back through to reread a few parts. I can't even put it into words how good this was - all I can say is "YOU'VE GOTTA READ IT!"."

"While I found the storyline interesting, I felt the author could've done much more with it. It had much potential, but the author didn't deliver.

I didn't feel that this book was terribly well written. I felt that the author didn't go deep enough with the characters in order for the reader to truly connect with them either.

All in all, I found it pretty flat and it didn't keep my attention; I kept falling asleep while reading it. Luckily, though, it captured me just enough to keep me reading until the end.

The last few chapters were better than the entire book combined, and I was extremely moved at the end. I cried and cried in those last few pages, but that wasn't enough to get me to like the book after all was said and done.

To sum it up, I would say this book was "so-so at best, with a very touching ending".

I was ready to give this book a 2-star rating, 2-1/2 stars tops. Until the end. The ending was so good that I gave it 3 stars. But no more."

Make the Connection: Ten Steps to a Better Body and a Better Life

"A very inspirational book with "doable" advice. The steps in this book are very realistic and possible to implement in your busy everyday life. I especially liked the fact that this was co-authored by someone whom we've seen her struggles - and eventual triumph - with achieving a healthy lifestyle."

"I really enjoyed reading this book! I liked the characters' personalities and how they related to each other and the world around them (taking very extraordinary circumstances and events and relating to them in a very everyday manner). I liked the imagination and creativity of the author. And I felt like it had it all - plot (conflict and resolution), romance/sex (but not too much), humor, great characters and a basic readability. I liked it so much I am going back to book 1 in the series and am starting at the beginning."

"An incredible read! I loved Chris Bohjalian's other novel "The Double Bind" so much that I had to read another of his works, and this one certainly did not disappoint.

Excellent style of writing, deep characterization, steady plot movement full of suspense, thought provoking issues, and a slight little twist at the end.

It kept me reading and I couldn't put it down. And by the end, I felt like I knew the family and was with them on every page.

I gave "The Double Bind" 5 stars and I give this one 5 stars as well. Love it, love it!!"

"Very suspenseful but not gorey - a definite psychological thriller. Though this book was almost 500 pages, I breezed through it, unable to put it down. It was very good and I can't wait to read the sequel, Absolute Fear, due out in spring of 2007."

"Romance is not my usual genre but this book blew me away - I loved it - it had it all! Heart-fluttering romance, steamy sex, self-realization and family ties, complete with the allure of Tuscany. And how nice to have a real-life, size 16 main character!

TAKE ME is well written - it captured me from the first page and I was driven to keep reading as long as I could without putting it down. The strong character development helped me connect with each character so intensely that I felt like each event was happening to me in my own life. It was very easy to get drawn deeply into the book until the very end, which, I might add, was wonderful.

What a fantastic read on so many levels!"
