Pretty good. I very much liked the heroine - she was fully of her time and culture, but still strong. I didn't really see the 'love' growing between the hero and heroine but Moor expressed it excellently once it was there. This was my first novel by Moore, and I would read her again.

Reminded me a lot of Patricia Veryan's novels. Some very well written bits.

A good story if you don't mind melodrama and anachronisms.

Decent, though a bit lacking in oomph. Too many monologues.

Not as good as other Gracie novels, but still very enjoyable and far above so many historical romances.

As with the majority of Ms Balogh's books, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I very much liked Rachel and Alleyne and Alleynes reunion with the Bedwyns. The supporting "cast" was wonderful as well.
