Brandy has decided to stay in Philly & is purchasing her parents house & her childhood friend Toodie is moving in to help with expenses & plumbing! Having someone around the house after her previous near death experience has Brandy back on her feet again. The twins think she needs to start dating again and have some set ups for her. One disaster after another especially when she finds a dismembered body in her house and Toodie is the prime suspect. Trying to clear his name she starts her own investigation much to the dismay of Bobby her hunky ex boyfriend detective. Finding some evidence that doesn't make sense she turns to new man Nick to help her out. Her feelings are all over the board as Nick brings out feelings in her she doesn't want to deal with. Along the way Bobby's wife is stalking her, a shady lawyer may or may not be lying to her, & some nefarious characters are trying to murder her before she can find out the truth about the body in her house. Thrills, chills, romance, & a twisty mystery!

Glad I stumbled upon this series. The first book was a lot of fun and the second doesn't fail to deliver. Lots of dead pan humor and interesting characters. I don't think you have to read the first book to understand the second, but it will fill out the characters and their personal histories for you -- not to mention that it's just a good read that you shouldn't miss.

Fun character! Many parallels to Stephanie Plum series. Main character bumbles into danger but has a hunky police detective and a mysterious bad boy to help her out!
