Tom Reilly (born 1960) is an Irish author and newspaper columnist (See the Life of Reilly in the Drogheda Independent every week), who has written books on Oliver Cromwell and on God and religion, as well as a book based on his own newspaper columns among others. To date in total, he has published eight books, two of which have been conventionally published, the other six have been self-published.

Reilly was born in Drogheda, Republic of Ireland. He is a director of a local printing company called Burex Manufacturing Ltd. of Dunleer, Co Louth, and a founder director of the Myteam.ie brand, which launched in late 2008. He spent most of his working life in the printing and allied trades and is an avid local historian. He is a vociferous defender of Oliver Cromwell's Irish campaign, having specific regard to the traditional version of events concerning the wholesale indiscriminate deaths of Irish civilians at the hands of Cromwell and his men – which he trenchantly refutes. Reilly contends that the stories are myths and that there is no solid evidence to suggest that Cromwell engaged in the killing of innocents at either Drogheda or Wexford – the two biggest blots on the English commander's career.

His best-known work, Cromwell – An Honourable Enemy: The Untold Story of the Cromwellian Invasion of Ireland (1999), is famous for the controversy created by its author's position on Oliver Cromwell and the Irish campaign, meeting severe criticism from numerous academics.

A brand new study by historian Philip McKeiver entitled A New History of Cromwell's Irish Campaign, unambiguously supports Reilly's thesis concerning the deaths of the ordinary unarmed people of Ireland.
