ok it's time for the winter  fall! challenge over on RT and I'd like some suggestions for the following challenges! I usually prefer contemporary/light/funny but the past 2 challeges I've read some  historical and other stuff..hopefully I can find the suggestions in mt tbr or the library but last time I ended up requesting some from here and they were pretty good!

ok...

cartoon cover (I've read Lynsay Sands, Beth Ciotta) thinking maybe one of Sandra Hills' has a cartoon cover or maybe a harlequin duets when they went to the cutesy covers? any other suggestions?

title has one of the f ollowing words it - sea, lake, river, falls

hero or heroine in medical field(already read Virgin River darn it!) if psychology counts I have an oldie I can re-read but open to other suggestions - don't like medical suspense but could  handle erotic romance or a good Blaze if you know of any or just something good - I did find a Victory Bylin? harlequin historical I think the woman is a dr..anyone familar with this one? think the guy kidnaps her or something.

tearjerker - ok doesn't take  much to make me tear up and don't want something that's gonna tear my guts out like Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers! (good book but gotta be prepared!)

Sandra Brown - yep this is the challenge to read one of her books. I don't think I'd like the suspense and some of them have mean guys in them(the olders stuff) thinking about honor bound or something like that but does she have something really good where the guy's not an ass and there' snot too much s uspense? isn't there one where the guy's a fireman and she does't know? is that one good?

ok guess that's it! the other challenges I have a few lined up for already but these I'm still debating on.

Tearjerker: Outlaw's Embrace by Francine Rivers

                    Comanche Heart by Catherine Anderson

Medical field: Sawyer by Lori Foster (hero is town DR. )

Cartoon cover: All Keyed Up by Mary Stella

I think the Nerd books have cartoony covers also some of Diedre Martin's baseball books.

Cartoon cover - one the non-Plum Janet Evanovich romances...I know Foul Play has as cartoon chicken on the cover

Tear-jerker - Minx was the only Julia Quinn that made me cry...something about the raw emotion in dialog of the climatic scene tore me up.  I posted it and I cried when it was ordered and I started wrapping it!  LOL  I was delighted last weekend when I found a pristine copy at the FOL sale and bought it for my very small keeper shelf.

Medical field - I was thinking the heroine in one of the Susan Donovan's was a veteranarian, but I checked and it says she is an "animal behaviorist"  Does animal pyschology count?  I hate cutesy pets in my romances, but that ugly Crested Chinese whatever was pretty darn funny.

Oh Yes: Marianne Stillings.  The Damsel in this Dress and GoodNight in the Garden of Good and Evie both have cartoon covers and are excellent reads.

thanks! I've devoured the Nerd books, everything by Marianne Stillings(the woman is practically a writing god in my book!), think I've read or listened to Evanovich's...wonder if lynn michaels would count as cartoon? think that's the author - read mother of the bride for a challenge earlier in the year and it was pretty decent. forgot about blow me down..have that in tbr. All Keyed Up sounds good but I"d have to order that one.never heard of that author either! forgot all about Houston we have a problem! that's somewhre in tbr.. Minx sounds like TOO much of a tear jerker! and I've read that Donovan book - cute! with the dancing doggy...

I grabbed a stack that will work for some of the other challenges to get started..it's pretty fun browsing the tbr and library to meet the c hallenges..don't like the tear jerker requirement though! the easiest is book about a present or retired soldier LOL hoo boy wonder if I have any of THOSE lying around?!!

any suggestions for title with one of thes words: sea, lake, river or falls?

and a Sandra Brown book - I don't like mean heroes(hawk O'toole's hostage though Imay have to resort to that one) or intense suspense with stalkers and killers on the loose..does she have anything just 'regular'? and still good?

Okay, I did a quick look through my WL/RL/TBR lists and here's what I came up with.

Sea, lake, river, falls in title:

Across a Moonlit Sea (Dante Pirates, Bk 1) and Wind and the Sea both by Marsha Canham

Silver Falls and Still Lake both by Anne Stuart

The River Devil by Diane Whiteside

Sea Witch (Children of the Sea, Bk 1)Sea Fever (Children of the Sea, Bk 2) and Sea Lord (Children of the Sea, Bk 3) all by Virginia Kantra

Cartoon covers:

The Naked TruthThe Big Bad Wolf Tells All by Donna Kauffmann,

Blow Me DownThe Corset DiariesHard Day's KnightMen in KiltsAin't Myth-Behaving by Katie MacAlister

The Duke & I (Bridgerton, Bk 1),  An Offer from a Gentleman (Bridgerton 3),  On the Way to the Wedding,  Romancing Mr. Bridgerton (Bridgerton, Bk 4) by Julia Quinn

The Truth About Cats & Dogs by Lori Foster and others

Turn Left At Sanity by Nancy Warren (on my shelf if you need it! lol)

Beverly Brandt and Elizabeth Bevarly both have many titles with cartoony covers. Erin McCarthy's Stake series and Dakota Cassidy's Accidental series both come to mind, but I'm pretty sure you've read both of those, if I remember correctly. And of course, anything by Ellora's Cave would probably work. ;-)

Tearjerker: Simply Love by Mary Balogh. I sobbed over this book.

Medical--if you want a historical, try either of these by Carla Kelly--The Surgeon's Lady or The Wedding Journey (I love both of these but The Wedding Journey edges out the other by a slight margin).
