I thought this was a gripping story of the Stephanides family from Greece to Detroit. With all of the detail spent on the grandparents' and parents' stories, I wish more time had been devoted to Cal. I will recommend it to my bookclub; but many will find it too long to read.

Right now, Jodi Picoult is my favorite author and this book is another reason why. Wonderful book that, once again, explores a touchy subject and has the twists and turns to surprise. Even my teenage daughter, who does not read for pleasure, loved this book.

What a great read! I had this on my wish list and when it came out in paperback, I couldn't wait any longer...so I bought it new! I could not put this book down and I loved how it ended! I really liked the story told from the perspective of both young and old Jacob.
